I see that Ian will be representing us at this event. (Thank you, Ian!) Is there anybody else in the area who can and should be going?

Subject: [Management] Round table with other open source foundations?

OSS Watch are organising a conference in Oxford on 24/25th June (with a barcamp on 27th).

Speakers at the conference include representatives of a number of open source foundations (most at director level) including:

The Apache Software Foundation (Justin Erenkrantz, President)

Codeplex Foundation (Stephen Walli, Technial Director)

GNOME Foundation (Stormy Peters, Executive Director)

Mozilla Foundation (Gerv Markham, Grease Gun)

Open Source Initiative (Simon Phipps, Director) - not a foundation, but relevant

Sakai Foundation (Ian Boston, Director)

Wikimedia Foundation (Samuel, Klein, Director)

We are working towards confirming a representative from Duraspace too.

Other representatives of these, and possibly other, foundations will be present at the conference.

I believe this is a good opportunity for these foundation
representatives to get together and compare notes, experiences and
challenges ahead. Or perhaps just be social. We have some meeting rooms
available for "Bird of a Feather" sessions on the Thursday evening
before the gala-dinner.

Would representatives of the Sakai Management list be interested in
attending such an event, and if so what topics of interest would you
like to raise?

NB, we have free passes for verified academic attendees. Please use the
code "Academic_Invite_10" when registering at
http://www.transfersummit.com/register
